FREE Digital News to make young people think

In this time of uncertainty, it has been incredibly refreshing to see communities all over the world pulling together and undertaking endless acts of goodwill and kindness to others. In the UK multiple international and small business alike have been supporting the NHS workers with free food and drinks, amazing discounts on their services and releasing some of their staff to volunteer within the community. We all need to remember that we are all in this together and have to fight this virus as a team.

Our great friends over at First News are creating free access to their products to help parents, children and schools during this time of isolation! Their weekly newspaper is aimed at 7-14 year olds and aims to get kids talking about the news in an easy to understand and non-threatening way.

Now more than ever, the news is all around us and children pick up on news wherever they go. It is vital that children are told facts and not hearsay or fake news shared amongst social media. But not all news is bad! First News and LittleBird passionately believe there are lots of positive stories out there.

First News cover issues which are relevant to children specifically. Inside their newspapers, you’ll find a mix of world news and UK news, but also a whole range of fun stuff such as entertainment, games, animals, sports and puzzles.

This week’s free issue includes an interview with Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr Jenny Harries OBE, covers how to talk to children calmly about Coronavirus, and fun Easter activities (whether you can get outside or not!).

To download your free copy all you need to do is head to the First News site, enter your email address and then they will send your free copy – simple! They will also send you a reminder when the next free edition is available to download.
