A Message from ZSL: Regretfully we have taken the decision to close ZSL London and Whipsnade Zoos to visitors with immediate effect, and until further notice, following the latest update from the UK Government. This is the right and responsible decision to protect our people and our community. Rest assured that our animals will remain well fed and cared for, and the top priority for our dedicated zookeepers and other essential zoo staff, and we are making sure these front line workers are able to get to and from work safely.

With more than 800 amazing animal species to discover, as well as live talks and fantastic, immersive exhibits, London Zoo has something to make sure everyone has a roaringly good day out. 

Embark on a journey through an Indonesian habitat at Tiger Territory, marvel at London’s largest colony of Humboldt penguins, move through leafy pathways and come face to face with the majestic Western lowland gorillas in the large Gorilla Kingdom and don't forget to visit the Land of the Lions!

Calling all adventurers, explorers and globetrotters! ZSL London Zoo’s brand new Animal Adventure zone will has opened, taking young visitors on a journey of discovery to meet animals ranging from eagle owls and porcupines to mongooses and meerkats – and find out more about these creatures’ secret and often surprising lives in the wild. With a new play area including water splash zone too. Entry is included in the Zoo entry price.

• The London Zoo Aquarium will be permanently closed from the 22nd October 2019. However, many of their wonderful aquatic animals will be back in 2020 when they rehome them in the exciting new corals exhibit, to be built in the lower floor of the B.U.G.S building.
