Go on a Green Journey at London Transport Museum this Summer!

London Transport Museum, Covent Garden

Kids go free!

From 23 July until 1 September

Best Bits
Get ready for summer at London Transport Museum. From 23 July until 1 September, discover the new ‘Green Journey’ installation exploring climate change, green technology and green jobs, and join in free workshops five times a day or explore the galleries on a fun green trail. Plus get hands-on with fun exhibits – like an Elizabeth line train driving simulator or jumping aboard the collection of vintage buses, trains and trams!

The summer activities are part of London Transport Museum’s 18-month climate action programme, Climate Crossroads, supported by Mastercard, Mott MacDonald, Cubic Transportation Systems and Sopra Steria. The programme aims to create experiences that get people thinking about what the future of our city could look like, and, inspired by the great engineering ingenuity of London’s past, will explore what innovations, skills and jobs we need to build this sustainable future.

  • Families can connect, play and explore together during the Museum's summer 'Green Journey' programme of events.
  • All visitors should feel empowered to take action to support London’s journey to net zero and understand how each of our own personal choices can affect our city of the future.
  • Free workshops are taking place five times a day throughout the summer on selected dates. Most suitable for 8-14 year olds.
  • Explore the whole Museum in Covent Garden and see for yourself the amazing collection of heritage trains, trams and buses!
  • Kids go free and adult tickets last a whole year.

LittleBird Top Tip

Plan a visit to Canteen, the Museum's cafe, decorated with original light fittings, tiles and seats from various stations and decommissioned train. A visit to Canteen is great for views over Covent Garden piazza and the perfect place to refuel with some delicious hot and cold food and drink options.
