Go on a journey and embrace art and nature. Sixteen diverse and organic works of art by four different artists will be positioned among some of Kew’s spectacular trees. Have your face painted to match the trees, discover never before seen areas of Kew, discover the science behind why leaves change colour and more!
- See larger than life environmental art works by Julia Clarke, Nigel Ross, Claudia Wegner & Woody Fox Willow
- Plus Visit Rebecca's Life in Death exhibition, and weave your way through the hanging garlands of 375,000 dried flowers.
- Become a badger in Kew's human-sized badger sett, and travel through 10 climate zones in the Princess of Wales Conservatory
- Have fun in the exciting Tree Top Walkway, high in the arboretum canopy
- Discover them all as you check out Climbers and Creepers, and Treehouse Towers (closing from 23 October)
- Delve into a tropical rainforest in the Palm house & be amazed by the giant lily pads in the waterlily house.
- Don’t miss the Bonsai House and secluded Garden Glasshouse.
- Or stroll through the 326-acres of land, where you’ll find plenty of peaceful spots to enjoy a picnic or just relax!
Special Activities:
Face Painting - Celebrate the season with some fun, colourful autumn designs (£4 or one face, £7 for two)
- Takes place in the Natural Area, drop in 11am to 3.30pm daily from 21-29 October.
Tree Spotting Walks - Wind your way along the Woodland Walk and visit an ancient royal playground and previously inaccessible part of Kew while you enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the British Native Woodland.
- 30 minute tours start at the Woodland House at 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Capacity is 30 people per tour and will work on a first come first serve basis
Changing autumn colour - Drop in sessions mixing science with creativity encouraging exploration of the science behind why leaves change colour and fall from the trees, whilst creating a beautiful art piece to take away.
- In the Natural area. Drop in sessions between 11am – 3.30pm
Silk River Unfurls: Plants, People, Art and Artefacts - Witness the result of a year long international community collaboration between artists in India and London (led by Kinetika) as 20 vibrant hand painted silk scrolls are unfurled. Each silk telling its own story.
Storytelling and hands on workshops will bring these stories to life, and there will be a special day for under 5’s and families on Sunday 22 October!
