Best Bits

Step into the Royal Observatory Greenwich and discover where time, space, and exploration come to life. With your entry ticket, families can explore the historic home of British astronomy, stand on the world-famous Prime Meridian Line where east meets west, and learn how Greenwich became the centre of global timekeeping. Inside, you’ll find fascinating galleries packed with historic telescopes, clocks, navigational tools, and stories of the scientists and explorers who changed the way we understand the world.

It’s a brilliant day out for families because there’s so much to see, do, and learn together. Children love standing with one foot in each hemisphere on the Meridian Line, spotting the giant telescopes, and discovering how sailors once navigated the oceans using the stars. Set within beautiful Greenwich Park, the Observatory also offers some of the best views across London, making it the perfect mix of hands-on learning, outdoor space, and family adventure.
