Power up for an electric summer at London Transport Museum
London Transport Museum, Covent Garden
Kids go free!
Tuesday 21 July – 2 September 2026
Suitable for 0-99 years
This summer, London Transport Museum welcomes families to discover the power behind the capital’s transport network through a packed programme of fun, hands-on activities. Explore the stories of electrical innovations that have shaped travel in London, from the world’s first electric underground railway in 1890 to cutting-edge technology used today.
Throughout the holidays there is plenty for visitors to enjoy, including designing and crafting a traffic light, coding electric toy trains on a mini railway, taking an imaginary journey on the first electric railway and meeting costumed characters who bring the past to life.
Visitors can also enjoy a visit to the Museum’s cafe for a bite to eat or browse the shop for an exclusive range of transport-inspired toys, gifts, stylish homewares and vintage posters.
All family activities are free with Museum admission - and kids go free!
