Explore Henry VIII's notoriously haunted palace for Halloween 2024, the spookiest time of the year at Hampton Court Palace.

This October half term, lose yourself in atmospheric projections and creepy sound effects as the palace is transformed by magical spells.

As you tiptoe through the dark winding corridors and courtyards, you’ll feel the chilling presence of our infamous ghosts hiding around every corner. Work with our ghost hunters to seek out all of Hampton Court Palace's spirits, but keep your distance – these ghosts are best kept to the past.

After all that exploring, cosy down to hear some spooky stories and then relax with a Halloween-themed treat from the café.

Designed to put you on edge, rather than push you over it, prepare yourself for an exciting family-friendly adventure that you won’t forget.

Hear Creepy Ghost Stories

Boo and the Grey Lady of Hampton Court Palace
Join their spooky storytellers for a spine-tingling adventure on the trail of the Grey Lady of Hampton Court.

Everyone is welcome. Children must accompany their adults at all times, in case the adults get spooked!

This will take place at 11:30, 12:30, 14:30 and 15:30 in the King's Guard Chamber and William III's Apartments and will last approximately 15 minutes.

Storytellers

Olivia Armstrong

Olivia is a performance storyteller who loves nothing more than telling spooky tales. From Windsor Castle to Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace to the BBC, she has spent twenty years finding and telling tales of magic, mystery and things that go bump in the night. 

Xanthe Gresham Knight

Xanthe is an acclaimed international performer who has told stories everywhere from Chelsea Physic Garden to Westminster Abbey. She has also published books on the folklore of healing plants and myths and legends of Goddesses and Heroines.

Halloween Talks

Visiting before half term? Join a fascinating talk exploring the spookier side of the palace’s history, every day 02-25 October.
