Muddy Trowel
Nearly a year ago, entrepreneur Stephen Folwell set up Muddy Trowel in 3 weeks as a response to saving millions of plants from being destroyed since nurseries and garden centres were closed due to lockdown. The aim was to deliver a solution to the plant crisis and, at the same time, delivering joy and plant information; demystifying the art of gardening and plant care in the process.

A year on and the principles that formed the cornerstones of the Muddy Trowel brand remain the same; being simple, sustainable and joyful, but the brand has evolved. Muddy Trowel now offers carefully curated, instant impact outdoor plant kits, delivered to the door. The plants are mainly perennial so, with minimal care they should last for years, the compost is peat free and the stylish Elho pots made using 100% wind turbine energy are made from recycled plastic as well as being recyclable (and colour & frost resistant). The Muddy Trowel magic comes from putting these plants together in collections that are impactful, interesting and original giving instant impact to outdoor spaces, however big or small.
