Discover something different at Woolwich Works!

Looking for a brilliant family day out in London that goes beyond the usual? Woolwich Works is a vibrant cultural hub in the heart of the historic Royal Arsenal, packed with theatre, music, workshops, comedy, circus, creative activities and plenty of family-friendly fun.

Set inside a collection of beautifully restored historic buildings, Woolwich Works is somewhere families can come together to watch a show, try something new, grab a coffee and make a real day of it.

🎭 A fantastic programme for families

There’s always plenty happening at Woolwich Works, with a varied programme of events for babies, toddlers, children and older kids. From interactive shows and family theatre to circus, music, comedy, workshops and creative activities, there are lots of opportunities to discover something new together.

The current family programme includes everything from robotics and coding sessions to family theatre, children’s comedy, circus and interactive music shows, with special activities taking place during school holidays too.

Top tip: Check the age guidance for each individual event, as not every show is suitable for all ages.

🏭 A venue with a story to tell

Woolwich Works isn’t just somewhere to see a show. The venue is set within five historic buildings on the Royal Arsenal, a site with more than 300 years of fascinating history.

The former industrial buildings have been transformed into a welcoming creative space, giving families the chance to experience arts and culture somewhere with real character and a fascinating past.

☕ Make a day of it

One of the best things about Woolwich Works is that you don’t have to rush in and out for a performance. The public spaces are open for visitors to enjoy, and the Visitors’ Book Café is a great place to stop for coffee, cake, drinks or a light bite.

When the weather is good, there’s also outdoor space in the Workers’ Yard. And with the Royal Arsenal and Woolwich nearby, you can easily turn your visit into a bigger family adventure.

♿ Welcoming and accessible

Woolwich Works has been refurbished to make the historic venue as accessible as possible. There are accessible toilets close to performance spaces, a Changing Places toilet and baby-changing facilities. The venue also offers free companion tickets for eligible access bookers.

💷 Family-friendly ticket options

Ticket prices vary depending on the event, and some events are completely free (although advance booking may be required). Woolwich Works also offers concessions for under-18s on eligible events, helping to make a family visit more affordable.
