Pancake Day Fun: Easy & Cool Recipes for Kids to Make
Pancake Day (Shrove Tuesday) is coming up on th 17th of February and it is the perfect excuse to get messy, flip a few pancakes (onto the ceiling… or the floor!), and let the kids take the lead.
Cooking together is all about fun, creativity, and laughter — plus the bonus of yummy pancakes at the end!
Here are some easy, slightly different ideas kids will love helping with this Pancake Day.
Classic Easy Pancakes

Perfect for little helpers
You’ll Need:
100g plain flour
2 eggs
300ml milk
1 tbsp melted butter or oil
Pinch of salt
Let the Kids:
✔️ Crack the eggs (shell rescue missions expected!)
✔️ Measure and pour ingredients
✔️ Whisk the batter
✔️ Help ladle it into the pan
(Adults handle the hot pan, but older kids can try flipping with supervision!)
Topping Ideas:
Lemon & sugar
Strawberries & chocolate drizzle
Banana & peanut butter
Yoghurt & honey
Pancake Art Creations

Turn pancakes into edible masterpieces!
Pour batter into a squeezy bottle (or spoon carefully).
Draw hearts, smiley faces, initials, or even dinosaurs.
Once the outline cooks a bit, fill it in.
Add blueberries or chocolate chips for extra fun.

Rainbow Fruit Pancake Tacos

Make slightly thicker pancakes so they fold easily.

Make mini pancakes either plain or with chocolate chips.
