Take the family and experience Kew’s first ever festival to celebrate the amazing science and scientists that work there. Let the kids make discoveries of their own in this three-day scientific extravaganza. Become a Kew scientist for the day; from using a DNA sequencer that can fit in a hand – which reads DNA letters directly from the living organism to the computer screen, to cloning a cabbage, and pollinating orchids with tuning forks, - the Festival hub will offer lots of fun ways to engage. Plus there is a full programme of exciting talks and behind-the-scenes tours for all ages

LittleBird Top Tip: Don’t miss The Hive. A unique structure made from thousands of pieces of aluminium, fitted with hundreds of LED lights that glow and fade as a unique soundtrack hums and buzzes. Throughout the summer there are various family-friendly events that aim to teach all ages about the importance of bees and pollination through fun, hands-on activities.
