For a frightfully good day out this October half-term, little monsters and their families are invited to Whipsnade Zoo for its Halloween take-over!
From Saturday 26 October to Sunday 3 November, ‘Boo at the Zoo’ promises lots of spooky activities for the whole family to sink their teeth into!
Don your creepiest costumes and walk like a mummy at the Halloween disco, where spirited youngsters can show off their scariest outfits for a chance to win a prize. Ready your wands for a monstrous magic show, get creative with some petrifying pumpkin painting, and get stuck into some creepy crafts, which are sure to get your heart racing!
Do you dare join the ghastly ghost tour, for a history of Whipsnade Zoo and its terrifying tales? Or prepare to be thrilled by our terrifying animal talks, highlighting the spookiest species at the UK’s largest zoo.
Only the most courageous creatures will be able to complete the Ghoulish Graveyard Trail, which teaches visitors about the Extinct-in-the-wild species bred at the conservation zoo. And no visit is complete without a hair-raising ride on The Great Whipsnade Railway.
After the extra autumn fun, fearless families can spend the rest of their day visiting more than 10,000 animals across the 600-acre site – including the ‘demons of the forest’ anoa in Whipsnade Zoo’s newest habitat Monkey Forest, and two newly born yak calves, ‘Ron’ and ‘Lily’, who join the rest of their fantastical family, all named after Harry Potter characters.
More information, an interactive map, and activity schedules are available online or via our Whipsnade Zoo app. Every spooky day out at the conservation zoo this half term ensures a less scary future for wildlife.
