So the school holidays are here and if you’re anything like the mums at LittleBird we expect you are thinking about what to do with the kids over the summer to keep them busy whilst not breaking the bank. To make life easier we have found the best free family activities across London which are taking place between now and September, including arts and crafts, farm visits and much more.   Below is what is happening over the next few days.  Stay tuned for more great things to do as we will be updating this list frequently with more great ideas.

28th July – The Horniman Museum in Forest Hill are running free arts and crafts sessions every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday throughout the school holidays. A perfect indoor activity for rainy days, the sessions celebrate world cultures, the natural world, festivals and the changing seasons through fabulous art and craft, to find out more visit; http://www.horniman.ac.uk/events/family_art.php

29th July – The British Museum has found a great way of making them more appealing to families – they now offer free activity backpacks (deposit required) which take around 90 minutes to complete. They also are running a variety of free activities over the school holidays too! Click this link to plan your visit; http://www.britishmuseum.org/visiting/family_visits.aspx

30th July – Why not take a trip to Mud Chute Farm? It’s a community run, free to visit farm located near to the Cross Harbour DLR station. With a variety of animals to meet, play area to use and a picnic field, what’s not to love?  Visit http://www.mudchute.org/ to find out more
